Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! The ice cream I scream for, is mint chocolate chip. This delectable flavor of ice cream is a combination of mint, whose flavor comes from either creme de menthe, spearmint, or peppermint, ice cream and small chocolate chips. Mint chocolate chip is tied in second place with cookies in cream for the second most popular ice cream flavor in America, with 3.7% votes in a survey conducted by the International Ice Cream Association. This flavor of ice cream hits a home run because of all the different experiences you enjoy with just one bite. The mint ice cream is the main component of this desert. Its chill, refreshing, creamy aspect creates a flavor marriage in heaven with the chocolate chips. Chocolate chips, chips of chocolate, are the reason why this flavor is so heavenly because of their crunchy, bittersweet, divine, and just sinfully delicious taste. On July 12, 2012, President Obama, while campaigning in Iowa, relaxed by visiting a local ice cream shop, and told the cashier, "I think I'll go with the classic mint chocolate chip." If the President of the United States chose this flavor, then you know there must be something delicious about it! How could your taste buds not have the urge to just try one spoonful?

  1. Vivian I love the way you started your essay. It was a good grabber sentence. I was also very convinced mint chocolate chip was good but when you brought up the president trying this flavor,I honestly wanted to go to Baskin Robbins and try some for myself. I will one day try some mint chocolate chip. It looks delicious!

  3. You did a great job of describing this delicious ice cream and using parallelism to persuade the reader to go out try mint chocolate chip ice cream if they have not yet. The persuasive technique of logos is clear in this blog. You did well in presenting the facts and then supporting them with your strong opinions. Also, brining up the president and quoting him is a great use of historical allusion, considering that any time before the present is history.

  4. As Nanar stated above, personally before reading this, the last ice cream I would eat would be mint chocolate chip. Judging from this blog post, I can honestly say that it sounds extremely appetizing. I never even bothered to check what the ingredients were for mint chocolate chips, but they seem like to be the same of any other ice cream, excluding the mint. Also, if a president of a country like The United States of America chooses to eat a "bizarre" ice cream, then it must be worth tasting. Your use of the literary devices is very subtle which is good, because it blends in with the blog post. Your persuasive technique of logos was placed in a strategic area of the post, which also is like giving the readers a little taste of logos every other sentence.
